Fashion for Life - Congratulations

I would like to congratulate everyone that has participated on this year "Fashion for Life" event. From the fabulous organization to each and every one of the sponsors, designers, members of the press, artists, performers, DJs, bloggers, builders, scripters and  everyone who has donate a single L$ to Relay for Life. Thanks to all of you because "Fashion for Life" has already raised the incredible sum of  4.000.000L$  for the American Cancer Society. Well done you all!!!

Even though the fair will still run until march 22nd I have decided to make this final post showcasing a all-FFL styling to close this week of crazy blogging. I really hope you have enjoyed my black and white spam and most of all I hope I have done my bit on making you visit the fair and contribute with this great cause ... I just hope.

Fashion for Life - Aleida

A few things you should know about Fashion for Life :

The fair will be open only until March 22nd, so you should hurry and get your shopping done and not wait until last day, when lag always hits harder. Lag has been good at least during the week, even for my terrible connection, breaking it into 9 different sims have helped improve conditions for players greatly I would say, and last but most important of all a total of 3,385,042 L$ has been raised already thanks to sponsoring, rents and sales. Congrats everyone from organization to entertainment and of course designers.

Fashion For Life is Open !!

Fashion for Life is the fashion arm of the Relay for Life movement in Second Life supporting the American Cancer Society, the formerly known as RFL Clothing Fair, but now directly supported by ACS. This year the fair includes not only clothing designers but also skins, eyes, tattoos, hair, shoes and much more... and since its directly supported by SL and the organization is entirely volunteer driven, 100% of the funds raised are presented as a charitable donation to ACS from the residents of Second Life.

This year the fair is held along 9 different sims, each of them sponsored by a different SL brand or company and built following this year’s theme “Beyond Black and White,” embodying the spirit of cancer survivors everywhere as they find hope rising out of the dark diagnosis of cancer,  by some of the best architects in Second Life.

Go Relay !!!!

En mi anterior post ya comente que me habia vestido de violeta para celebrar el "purple day" organizado por "Relay for Life" pero no me detuve a explicar un poquito de que se trata RFL y que es lo que hacen en SL. RFL (Relay for Life) es la parte que realiza actividades de la Asociacion Americana Contra el Cancer (ACS), una ONG que mediante un sistema ramificado por equipos ayuda en la lucha contra el cancer, no solo recaudando fondos, si no también compartiendo la experiencia de familiares y de supervivientes.

Si os interesa la moda en Second Life probablemente ya hayais oido hablar de RFL, por eventos como la "Clothing Fair", celebrada hace unos meses, o la "Hair Fair"que comienza el proximo 20 de Junio. En estas multitudinarias ferias participan los mejores diseñadores de SL que destinan un porcentaje, que en algunos casos llega al 100%, de sus ventas para apoyar a RFL.

Otra de las formas de recaudar fondos es la creacion de pizas unicas (One of a Kind) para ser subastadas. Piezas unicas como este traje que llevo de Eshi Otawara llamado "Smokey Tux Dress Fuchsia", subastado ayer en un evento organizado por una de mis compañeras modelo Kay Fairey.

Yo no pude asistir a la subasta porque tenia compromisos en esta RL que tengo tan revuelta ultimamente, pero me alegra tener amigos tan maravillosos como Frolic (Frolic Mills, el dueño de BOSL, para aquellos que vivan debajo de una roca) que se acordó de mi y me compro un pedazo de vestido maravilloso.

Yo creo que Frolito me debe ver como su princesita o algo porque siempre me quiere vestir de rosa , y la verdad es que no me gusta nada el rosa en RL, pero claro tengo la piel tan clarita y los ojos azules ..... pues tanto en RL como en SL todo el mundo me dice que el rosa me queda muy bien.... ayssss ...... y luego me lo pongo y me encanta claro !!!!

Nosotros en BOSL también aportamos nuestro granito de arena cada año a Relay. Nuestro equipo recauda fondos mediante la organización de eventos, que al fin y al cabo es lo que mejor sabemos hacer. Este año, entre muchas otras actividades, hemos organizado nuevamente nuestro "Broadway Show", donde 2 de las mejores voces de SL, Mankind Tracer y TJ Oanomochi hicieron las delicias de todos los que decidieron acercarse al Patch Thibaud Auditorium anoche, interpretando las piezas mas famosas de musicales como Evita, Grease, El mago de Oz, Chicago y La cage aux faulles entre otras .

Y por supuesto yo aproveche para ponerme mi vestido nuevo !!!
