My Top Ten New Year Resolutions (2014)

I've already decided my top 10 resolutions for this 2014. Just like RL I probably won't be achieving half of them, but at least I have the determination to try harder than last year, and to force myself a little bit more I am going to write them all here so I can review them at the end of the year and see how many of them I have actually accomplished.

My first and top 1 resolution is of course, to sort my inventory. Actually I only need to sort 2 folders of my inventory that are a total mess right no: my "objects" folder and my "home and decor" folder. All my clothing and body parts are perfectly updated and classified but I still haven't found a really good way to organize all my furniture and decor items, which has, over the years, ended up in a completely messy folder where you can find from a panda avatar to a chess table or a vintage car.

My second challenge is related to photography. I really want to improve my photography skills, from poses to lights, backgrounds and of course photo editing, I am determined to learn from the best photographers I've been able to find on Flickr and I am stalking their albums and trying to find ideas on how to better alter my pictures. Some day I hope to be able to take amazing pictures like LouLou Teichman, Magissa Denver, Skip Staheli, Miaa Rebane, Petra Messioptra or Shyla Digss ... some day...

Since I started my blog back in 2007 I have found a lot of useful information that other SL residents have been kind enough to share FOR FREE with all of us on their blogs, websites and youtube. There is a long list of people I could never thank enough for all the amazing tips they share with the SL community but some of the best that I suggest you to follow are  Strawberry Singh tutorial section, Elysium Eilde youtube photoshop tips, Harlow Heslop photography tutorials, and Shyntae Demonista tutorials among many others. Also from outside SL professionals like Glyn Dewis and youtube’s Photoshop Training Channel. My resolution? To start my own tutorials section on my blog and share the very few things I’ve learned with all of you.

Another project I have pending since 2010 is to learn how to make poses. My 4th resolution is to learn how to make photography poses in order to showcase all the designs I picture in my blog. I have already downloaded a few programs and as soon as I have some spare time I will start working on it.

Regarding my blog I have yet another resolution. I am strongly determined to blog at least once a week, even if I can only make a LOTD or a Baiastice release post (Sissy my love you produce much more than I can blog) I need to have a steady publication, I owe it to my followers and to myself to keep this crazy blog alive.

I also need to find some spare time to make more nail releases; I have quite a few news coming up for Nailed It, a new store set up, a new nail texture and a lot of new designs to release.. If there only was an easier way to make vendors….sighs… My 6th resolution is to release a new design at least once every two weeks, or a set of two per month, excluding events.

And events are what my next resolution is about. Even though I had read a lot about designers ranting about SL events, my own experience has been amazing: I have participated so far in the I love Donna Flora Event, the Peace on Earth Hunt and the KittyCats Advent Calendar events , and they have all been an amazing experience to me. I am already invited to The Runway Perfect hunt  that will take place on April and the Fashion Pride event on March but my resolution is to get Nailed It to be in at least one of the big events like Collabor88, Cometic Fair, The Liason Collaborative’s Boutique, FaMESHed or L’Accessoires.

My second passion along with Fashion is definitely Music. I really enjoy DJing, music has always been my safe spot, whenever I feel sad, whenever I feel guilty, whenever I feel happy , whenever I feel loved, I just love to find the music to go along with these feelings. Working as a DJ in SL allows me to share all these emotions with a lot of people who then request their songs and share their feelings with me as well, I think it’s truly amazing and I’m lucky to have the best job in the world.

Due to my hectic situation in RL I no longer have a settled schedule at Sweethearts Jazz, which has been my home since I returned to SL. I miss my SH family so much and my 8^th resolution is to arrange things in order to be able to fully return to Sweethearts and share all my favourite music with all my family and friends.

But that’s not my only resolution regarding to DJing. I currently work for EVANE and PENUMBRA as their host and DJ for fashion shows and as a freelance for many other agencies and I’m always trying to find new and amazing music to go along with the shows but I want to go a step further. I want to learn how to use Skype along with Sam to make interviews, record advertising, make custom special effects and add some more new crazy ideas I have in mind to improve the quality of the Fashion Shows I DJ at. Fashion is an evolving industry and I think fashion agencies need to evolve with it. My resolution is to do my part so that happens.

And last, but certainly not least, my 10^th resolution, and probably the most important of all, is to bring to life all the amazing projects we have in mind for VERSUS. It’s very important for me to raise the bar for every single issue we publish, not only improving quality (for which I need to work harder on the layouts) but also bring the best contents, ideas and new releases to all our readers. But we won’t stop there. At Versus we have a lot of fresh ideas that need to be fully developed and to do that we need time and dedication. I will do all my best to bring each and every one of these ideas to life so VERSUS becomes a synonym of quality and innovation all over the grid.

Item of the week - IOTW - Helmet by Giela Delpaso

I looooove styling, it's what I spend most of the time doing in SL, and opossite of what most people do, I usually style around one item or pose, and not according to a particular trend. Thats why IOTW instantly called my attention!

IOTW randomly names an item for the week, and allows everyone on teh grid to style anything around the main item, anyway you want. It opens up your creative process and makes you think how you will want to use that particula item.For week One, the item is HELMET

Woot! My imagination went wild. I could be an astronaut, I could be a metal worker (Flashdance anyone?), I could be a car race pilot....or I could be a marine! If I lived in the USA I am sure I would have enrolled the army. Maybe I am not tought enough to be a marine myself, but would have probably suited a background work at any of the Navy or Army departments. As you may figure, in Spain is not quite the same LOL, that's why for this IOTW I choose to be a Vietnam USA Marine.

Figure Ice Skating Star

I think that one of the few things we all agree about Second Life is the chance to be or do things you would never be able to do in your Real Life. I am pretty sure I am a Ice Skating superstar in a parallel universe, but I've only had the chance to step on an ice rink 4 times in my whole life, and of course it was one of the most amazing experiences in my  life.

I would love to live in one of these countries with snowy winters and open to public Ice rinks, so I could practice all day long doing all kinds of spins, turns and spirals until my nose tip was frozen and my cheeks would hurt and look red as a reindeer nose.

But I am not complaining, I went to the beach two days ago, I am sure many of you are already tired of the cold weather and would love to be at my island at the moment and I am lucky to have SL for all my ice skating endeavours. As a plus, here my bottom doesn't hurt at the end of the day because of all the times I failed miserably trying to do that stupid back flip. Oh The wonders of Second Life!!
