I am honored to participate in The Style icon fashion fair that just started last friday february 7th and will last until february 28th. 

I've created a brand new set made of a  combination of bright and pastel polishes inspired in some of my favorite Style Icons of all times, from Grace Kelly to Lady Gaga.

The Style Icon set is also available in Nailed It Original mesh Nails version.

My Top Ten New Year Resolutions (2014)

I've already decided my top 10 resolutions for this 2014. Just like RL I probably won't be achieving half of them, but at least I have the determination to try harder than last year, and to force myself a little bit more I am going to write them all here so I can review them at the end of the year and see how many of them I have actually accomplished.

My first and top 1 resolution is of course, to sort my inventory. Actually I only need to sort 2 folders of my inventory that are a total mess right no: my "objects" folder and my "home and decor" folder. All my clothing and body parts are perfectly updated and classified but I still haven't found a really good way to organize all my furniture and decor items, which has, over the years, ended up in a completely messy folder where you can find from a panda avatar to a chess table or a vintage car.

My second challenge is related to photography. I really want to improve my photography skills, from poses to lights, backgrounds and of course photo editing, I am determined to learn from the best photographers I've been able to find on Flickr and I am stalking their albums and trying to find ideas on how to better alter my pictures. Some day I hope to be able to take amazing pictures like LouLou Teichman, Magissa Denver, Skip Staheli, Miaa Rebane, Petra Messioptra or Shyla Digss ... some day...

Since I started my blog back in 2007 I have found a lot of useful information that other SL residents have been kind enough to share FOR FREE with all of us on their blogs, websites and youtube. There is a long list of people I could never thank enough for all the amazing tips they share with the SL community but some of the best that I suggest you to follow are  Strawberry Singh tutorial section, Elysium Eilde youtube photoshop tips, Harlow Heslop photography tutorials, and Shyntae Demonista tutorials among many others. Also from outside SL professionals like Glyn Dewis and youtube’s Photoshop Training Channel. My resolution? To start my own tutorials section on my blog and share the very few things I’ve learned with all of you.

Another project I have pending since 2010 is to learn how to make poses. My 4th resolution is to learn how to make photography poses in order to showcase all the designs I picture in my blog. I have already downloaded a few programs and as soon as I have some spare time I will start working on it.

Regarding my blog I have yet another resolution. I am strongly determined to blog at least once a week, even if I can only make a LOTD or a Baiastice release post (Sissy my love you produce much more than I can blog) I need to have a steady publication, I owe it to my followers and to myself to keep this crazy blog alive.

I also need to find some spare time to make more nail releases; I have quite a few news coming up for Nailed It, a new store set up, a new nail texture and a lot of new designs to release.. If there only was an easier way to make vendors….sighs… My 6th resolution is to release a new design at least once every two weeks, or a set of two per month, excluding events.

And events are what my next resolution is about. Even though I had read a lot about designers ranting about SL events, my own experience has been amazing: I have participated so far in the I love Donna Flora Event, the Peace on Earth Hunt and the KittyCats Advent Calendar events , and they have all been an amazing experience to me. I am already invited to The Runway Perfect hunt  that will take place on April and the Fashion Pride event on March but my resolution is to get Nailed It to be in at least one of the big events like Collabor88, Cometic Fair, The Liason Collaborative’s Boutique, FaMESHed or L’Accessoires.

My second passion along with Fashion is definitely Music. I really enjoy DJing, music has always been my safe spot, whenever I feel sad, whenever I feel guilty, whenever I feel happy , whenever I feel loved, I just love to find the music to go along with these feelings. Working as a DJ in SL allows me to share all these emotions with a lot of people who then request their songs and share their feelings with me as well, I think it’s truly amazing and I’m lucky to have the best job in the world.

Due to my hectic situation in RL I no longer have a settled schedule at Sweethearts Jazz, which has been my home since I returned to SL. I miss my SH family so much and my 8^th resolution is to arrange things in order to be able to fully return to Sweethearts and share all my favourite music with all my family and friends.

But that’s not my only resolution regarding to DJing. I currently work for EVANE and PENUMBRA as their host and DJ for fashion shows and as a freelance for many other agencies and I’m always trying to find new and amazing music to go along with the shows but I want to go a step further. I want to learn how to use Skype along with Sam to make interviews, record advertising, make custom special effects and add some more new crazy ideas I have in mind to improve the quality of the Fashion Shows I DJ at. Fashion is an evolving industry and I think fashion agencies need to evolve with it. My resolution is to do my part so that happens.

And last, but certainly not least, my 10^th resolution, and probably the most important of all, is to bring to life all the amazing projects we have in mind for VERSUS. It’s very important for me to raise the bar for every single issue we publish, not only improving quality (for which I need to work harder on the layouts) but also bring the best contents, ideas and new releases to all our readers. But we won’t stop there. At Versus we have a lot of fresh ideas that need to be fully developed and to do that we need time and dedication. I will do all my best to bring each and every one of these ideas to life so VERSUS becomes a synonym of quality and innovation all over the grid.

I'll just stay home today.

Today is one of those lazy days when I don't want to do anything at all. I don't want to go shop for groceries. I don't want to cook for lunch...I just want to stay at home and sort all my amazing items from The Arcade gatcha event that flood my inventory.

I have already set up a lot of their items at home, I must confess I am the worst interior designer on the grid, It just amazes me when I look at the works of talented people like Editorial Clarity who make true homes out of simple prims. I just drop everything aorund and look at how beautiful things are , and how terrible they look together at my house ... but yesterday I made and effort and managed to put a few things  together in hope I could make a beautiful picture out of them.

In the picture we can see items from 9 different designers @ The Arcade. I'm Back

1.- Baiastice Daphne

I've been trying to write a blog post since I returned to SL but honestly  I had nothing to say. Now that I've been around for over a month ... still have nothing to say.... sighs ... but I really want to get back to blogging and I need to start somewhere so I'll make a quick resume of what I've done lately, maybe that will help me get slowly on track .

Slow, that may be "the word", I am taking things slow now, I'm calm, I'm relaxed and I returned to enjoy my SL. What I've enjoyed the most since I joined SL back in 2007 is probably DJing, that's how I met my first friends, some of them are luckily still part of my life like Frolic Mills (my first real SL friend), Hector Milner or Elmiguel Ricardo. It's funny to me how people I've shared tons of hours working as a model don't even say Hi! anymore (probably because I'm not famous enough anymore lol), but people I just partied with 5 years ago  were the first to open an IM and say OMG its been a long time!! And it was 3 guys, makes you wonder *giggles*.

2.- New Giela 2013

But they are not the only ones, I was happy to see long time friends again, specially my dear Sissy Pessoa from Baiastice, my lovely Summer Deadlight, the most awesome Umberto Giano, the one and only always amazing Callie Cline, the incredibly talented Leah McCullough, the always perfect Mimmi Boa, the lovely and crazy Misha Flanagan, my almost-neighbour (or at least the ones that lives closer to me ) Tabata Jewell and my inspiration as a stylist Miaa Rebane among others. I finally made a Facebook account for Giela which helped me get on track with  lots of old friends, beautiful models and gifted in their own fields like Syra Hyun, Angels Milena, Anna Sapphire, Caoimhe Lionheart, Alianna Logan, Estela Serenity, Carilynn OHare, Algezares Magic ... girls you are too many to list, please forgive me if I forget any of you ... I just wanted to thank you all for the warm welcome, I feel soooooo blessed to have you all, Thank you, thank you thank you!!!

3.- I'm Back!

I was delighted to see how SL has improved in a lot of different ways, specially regarding Mesh. The first thing I got on my first day on SL was one of those standard shapes pack, a new improved skin and a beautiful mesh dress (thanks to my lovely Sissy). There was a sale going on at Truth (thats what I call great timing !) so I got a few (too many) new mesh hairs aswel. I was fighting playing with my shape for about 10 hours before I screamed and finally decided to take my first picture. Here I really need to thank Strawberry Singh for all the amazing tutorials on her website....I didn't remember how to use Photoshop .. at all.. and her tutorials really encouraged me to take some shots again, withouth her page I'd still be working on the first pic *giggles*

4.- Baiastice Tahel minidress.

Of course I love mesh, specially regarding short dresses and skirts, no more flat bootie shapes for pencil skirts, no more prims going up your hooha (Summz I steal that one from you), I can't be happier. And like I already said  I've also started to work as a DJ, on  the very first weeks in some small clubs but when I felt I was ready I decided to apply to a beautiful club full of amazing people called Sweethearts. It's a beautiful romantic ballroom, with nice slow paced music, classy hosts and smart dressed people wearing suits and gowns. OMG Gowns!!! So I need a mesh gown now too....  and I quickly found one. The most amazing couple on SL are Giz Seorn and Auster Elan. period. I met them at what I think it was close to their start in SL and they have come to be one of the biggest brands on the grid, and they still only have warm hearts and kind words for me everytime we meet. I decided to visit GizzA and get an amazing gown I had seen on the feeds with leopard print but once I was there I found a perfect flowery version, that would fit the Sweethearts atmosphere better and also my style. I DJ at Sweethearts every weekday (if I don't have to work RL) from 2:00 to 4:00 am SLT. If you are online it will be great to see you there :) I will be more than happy to dedicate you a song, or two !

5.- GizzA Gilda
